( Daytrip) A Sega Genesis Demo Programed by Sigflup Synasloble with music by Groovmaster303 and Jredd :)!
It’s official! Groovemaster303 and I can count ourselves as part of the Sega Genesis/Megadrive Demo Scene! Here’s what the programmer herself has to say about it .
“Helllo everybody! Sigflup at the keyboard here. We have a demo we’d like to
share, called Day Trip. Featuring 3d polygons, raycasting, vertical scroll
tricks, palette tricks and DMA tricks. This is meant to be run on real
hardware. I have a sega-genesis model 1 with an everdrive cart. It runs on
gens too, accept for dma tricks. Glad you are paying attention!!!!”
You can download the Demo here .
Or, watch it in action on youtube here!
You know, I grew up seeing some demos and knew about the Demo scene a bit in the 90′s when I was small. Loading one of those up was magical to me. My brother was a programmer himself. He made some different programs including a version of Tetris in visual basic, and a little piano roll midi program for me that I used to use growing up just to name a couple. If he were still alive today, I think he’d be quite proud to see my music in a Sega Genesis Demo.
Perhaps it sounds little silly to some, but it feels like in some small way I get to carry on his legacy and pay homage to some of my earliest memories of chip music at the same time. So for me, it feels like quite the privilege and honor to be counted among those in the Demo Scene. Who knows, maybe someone will see this demo and be inspired to be creative themselves. I think at the end of the day that’s what really blows my mind. Thinking about being small and full of awe at something and then growing up to do the very things I couldn’t even wrap my mind around as a child . It feels like people continue to recognize me and appreciate what I do, and knowing that feels me with a joy that I can’t put a price on. Again, I want to say thanks to everyone in the chip comunity for thier continued support and kindness. You guys mean the world to me.
