After spending the last year working on new material. Melbourne-based artists Aaaron Justus and Mr. Roboto, a.k.a. Organ Grinder, are ready to take their music out of the loungeroom and onto the stage.
Find our demo here:
September Twelve by Organ Grinder. Or if you don’t like Facebook, you can go straight to the source on our own website.
Instruments used in this recording were:
Amiga 1200, Yamaha DX-100, Fender guitar and some shitty microphone which cost $10 from cash converters.
The process we used to record the demo was:
1) play all the songs live; vocals, amiga, lead. All at once
2) play all the parts separately along to the amiga track adding basslines and a couple of minor coup-de-grace’s
3) mix them together
We are determined not to use any DAW magic in our sound. No VST effects, no chopping up tracks, punching in/out, etc. and certainly no bloody Macbook! We like to think we’re good enough to perform consistently without needing these kinds of thing. We are a live band and all our songs have been arranged so what you hear on the recordings is pretty much what you would hear on the stage.
Enjoy
