What’s New With Jredd?
Wow, it really has been a long time since I’ve posted here and as such I felt like writing an article. After all, many of my older albums and articles are here and it feels good to be posting agian . There’s so much stuff to catch up on I am not even sure where to start.
First off, recently my soundcloud has exploded and I now have over 700 followers! I wanted to do something special for reaching that milestone and so I got in contact with a friend of mine who helps to run a podcast about oldschool video games called Retro Obscura. He agreed to interview me about my music and upcoming albums . You can check out a high quality recording of that here:
Now granted, there’s a wonderful interview of me via text on this very site. However, if you want to hear many of those things expressed live and stumbled over in voice chat then this is the link for you !
Secondly, some people have urged me to get a bandcamp and so I thought “Why not?” and I put a free album of my best Sega Genesis music up there with an option to donate if you so choose. You can find those songs here . http://trevinhughes.bandcamp.com/releases
Finally, the most exciting development to have happened to me recently is that I got picked by a chiptune net label bassed out of Tokyo Japan called “Cheapbeats” They helped to produce my latest album by mastering it in a studio and finding an amazing artist for my cover. It’s called “The Next Level” and you can pick that up here! http://cheapbeatsmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-next-level
Now this one is special because you have the option of a digital download of it for 6 bucks, or if you are really big on collecting you can opt to buy a real CD of it for 10. It comes with extra album art and is a cool addition to any music CD collection (In my opinion)!
I know this all comes off as self promoting, but really I am just more excited than anything. I want to take this opportunity to thank NoiChan for everything they have done for me. Without the experience I gained here, I don’t know if I could have had the confidence to post with such enthusiasm other places. Even if nobody spends penny it really isn’t about that. It’s about the fact that people appreciate me and my silly hobbies to the point where people have actually sent me a little bit of money for doing what I love. That’s insane.
Before I write anymore, I figure I’ll just cut myself short by saying:
Thanks for everything,
This is my first album, released 10th of January on BleepLove. It’s a free downloadable album featuring 12 bitpop tracks in classic Laffe style, also including collaborations with CHICKENANDROFLS, Lukas Eriksson and remedmatika.
Check it out for free at BleepLove:
Or download it directly at this link:
Big thanks to BleepLove, to the other artists featured on this album, to Damnthatsmatt for making the cover art, and to everyone who’s been supporting me in any way. I really appreciate all the love and support. And of course; thanks for listening! Enjoy if you can!
A group of whimsical memorable short tunes that will make your heart smile for a little bit. Preferably to add color to a dull day. All the tunes had been produced during OHC excercizes between the summer of 2008 – winter 2010 featuring the 2a03 sound chip and released under the good graces of Noichan.org for your listening pleasure.
This marks our 5th release from 8-BITchin’tendo (6th if you count his 3-way split with Jackie, & TheFender, Triforce Tunes). While a bit gentler than his previous releases, Nessie doesn’t disappoint. Classic Nintendo sounds, mixed masterfully.
Our first official release from Buskerdroid, co-founder of Italy’s Coucou Netlabel. This is the soundtrack for Sticky Sticky, available on the OUYA and iPhone. Available soon for Android and Windows. This album was created with LSDJx2, and vocal samples processed using Korg ms2000, Reason4, and others. Post production with FL10 and hardware effects from Boss and Behringer. Sticky Sticky O.S.T. is futuristic, airy, and groovy.
More great works from Buskerdroid are available on his bandcamp page.
A thrashy breakcore release, created using LSDJ. This is our first release from Memero, and we’re proud to have him onboard.
The 8081 net label has released a Monster Tale tribute album featuring many talented chiptune artists such as myself, Kart Maze, Laffe The Fox, and many more! All the songs are great, and I am happy to be a part of it. Check it out, and spread the word!
A sweet collection of crazy unorthodox dance patterns from VRUMZSSSR, one of the most active Russian chiptune producers, and founder of Bleeplove.ru chiptune netlabel. Created using LSDj.
Workers of the World, download my new album “Confessions of a Socialist” for free at bloerb.bandcamp.com! <3
Also be sure to check out the first music video for this album, I had a lot of fun with it:
And don’t forget to unite!
“My ideal would be a condition in which all natural resources
would be forever free to all, and the worker
individually able to produce for himself
sufficient for all his vital needs, if he so chose,
so that he needs not govern his working or not working
by the times and seasons of his fellows.
I think that time may come;
but it will only be through the development
of the modes of production
and the taste of the people.
Meanwhile we all cry with one voice for the freedom to try.”
– Voltairine de Cleyre, 1901

Chiptune’s greatest and most prolific horrorpunkster ‘+Let’s Disinfect!+’ is gracing TWG with a self-titled album, three years in the making, and his usual bouts of anthemic chippunk.
Continuing our tradition of showcasing chiptune with experimental or ‘out of the ordinary’ applications, Sean Monistat, aka +Let’s Disinfect!+, produces his most diverse album yet. Whilst tracks like ‘My Life Hurts’ and the title track delve into that familiar upbeat +LD!+ sound, this debut full-length sees an expansion of Let’s Disinfect’s repertoire, drawing on post-punk sounds on ‘Melted Ice Cream’, prog metal meanderings in ‘A Garden of Mutants’ and nods to chipthrash in ‘Buy My Lawnmower!’. This all adds up to the most diverse, effective and repeatable Let’s Disinfect release to date.
As with most releases here on TWG, ‘+Let’s Disinfect!+’ is a grower, and repeat listens will let those punk pop-lined hooks dig only deeper into the brain, until every single lyric is engraved into natural impulse. And if the adhesive motifs weren’t enough, the vibrancy of textures and styles coated with that trademark ‘less-is-more’ chip (in this case DS) programming and crowd-chanting shouts of frontman Sean leave this release in the stratosphere when comparing it to vocal/chip albums of the past. From the plodding determination of ‘Contact!’ to the ferocious outburst of the title track, Let’s Disinfect! continues to cement himself as an essential forward thinker within an often saturated scene, and an extremely talented one at that.
