Is this hand painted or professionally printed? If you can do up a design this awesome in Adobe Illustrator for me that will fit on a 40”x10”-ish area, I will pay you!
Very awesome! I’ve been trying to find someone to design me longboards that this community might be interested in (nerdy or pixelated or something) but I haven’t found someone willing to try or someone I can afford. So far I have 2 prototypes made but I want something different:
Good idea but idk how many people here board, let alone longboard. I used to just skateboard until I managed the new local skate shop for a summer. The owner of the shop shapes Stand-up paddleboards, surfboards and longboards, so he did my deck as well. Simple multi-layer ply wood but with a carbon fiber spine and entirely glassed; thats why I got my design painted on top because it cannot get hurt.
As for artists, I used to follow many of the posters on 8bc. im all about the Nostalgia or pixel. Pixel art touches me in a very tender way. <3
Yea, I didn’t think a lot of people on here would be into longboarding but longboarding is very popular at my school (Uni of Arizona) so I figured maybe a few people in this community might want a board and the rest could be bought by kids at school. I’m trying to come up with about 5 designs before I press these boards so I can get the boards as cheap as possible (higher quantity lower price). To undercut the market. These prototypes are high quality too. My Loaded is already showing use after a year but the bottom board in the picture I uploaded is my daily rider and I throw it around and everything and it still looks great.
Oh yea and I love pixel art too. I’ve contacted numerous people who do pixel art on 8bc and cm.o and they all say the same thing; they can’t do a piece that big. One guy actually attempted it but gave up. I’ve even offered money but they still can’t/won’t.
The only catch is it has to be Adobe Illustrator. The manufacturer I will be using prefers Adobe Illustrator. You can also do a rough sketch and I can draw it into Adobe Illustrator myself. And I am willing to pay for your talents and time as well. I won’t be expecting anything for free so let me know what you would expect in payment?
And yea, I ride my board everyday. My campus is about 3/4 to 1 mile wide and mostly flat and a board is easier to throw in my car than my bike. But i’m terrible on boards. I fall a lot. Ha!

I free handed the outline onto the board and my GF hand painted it.

I can give something a shot, but no promises. Maybe I’ll even ask the girlfriend to make an attempt.

38.25×10 is the current size I’m using. Then I adjust it to fit into the exact shape of the board.
