Something a bit different. Did it for weekly beats. Basically expanded the bassline I was using for last week's LSDJ and You article. Twas fun. I'll probably work on this some more, fill it out, make it more tense, etc. So, WIP, I guess.
I Fall Asleep and Wake up in the Underground Forest (My 1st LSDJ, haha)
Since 8bc is dead I figure I should preserve this for posterity here. This is my first finished LSDJ track, uploaded to 8bc in 2006. Unless someone proves otherwise, I claim to be the first person to mix LSDJ, melodica, and glockenspiel! :P
DEPART (DYLANBROCHILL Remix)
Mr. Brochill was kind enough to provide me his .sav, so I mucked about and screwed up his tables. :P
Bongo Romance
This is my first song for Weekly Beats. Kinda bossa nova-ish. I'm pretty pleased for managing it in a week, though I may come back to it later and re-record it with tighter guitar and more going on in the bridge. *shrug* I think it sounds kinda neat though.
Engineer's Blues (Casiocore, lol)
Ahahahaha. Here's a song I wrote about being an electrical engineer. I'm not an electrical engineer! Crappy Yamaha keyboard on auto-play, ran through a Moog filter, some chippy arps, and a synth lead. And singing. Yay.
Roboctopus - Evening for the Rest of Your Life (DNC RMX) Ver 2
I had so much fun with my live mode mix that I decided to do it a little more properly. So this isn't live, and I've tweaked patterns and created some new patterns to emphasize the dance vibe. I don't know enough about electronic music to put in in a genre though, haha.
Roboctopus - Evening for the Rest of Your Life
It's either a slow burn or all over the map... It's either a WIP or finished.
Falling Down the Stairs, Relaxing at the Bottom
It's been awhile since I've shared a new song. This might not be finished (I'm still making tweaks on it). This is one of the tracks from the little EP I've been working on.
Midnight at the Ice Palace
I was unsatisfied with the bass sound, so I redid it with a hand-drawn wave. It's a bit beefier and louder now. I like the fade in, but I'm not sure I dig the fade out... It's still straight-up disco. :P
Roboctopus - In Space No One Can Hear You Disco
This is almost uploaded for novelty purposes. This is the second *completed* LSDJ tune I made, uploaded to 8bc in 2006. It may seem quaint now, but I think it was pretty cool by 2006 standards. The track was composed with instruments panned hard left or right, with the right channel split and routed through a Moog ring modulator that I tweaked live during the recording. The cart with the save on it died before I backed it up, so this is the only recording. Anyway, LSDJ + live analog ring modulator.
Roboctopus - Memory Erasers Local
LSDJ track. It's a bit all over the place, but I like that about this track.
